Derived from the laws of general osteopathy, and in particular on cranio-sacral relationships, the Poyet method is the result of the work of Maurice POYET, physiotherapist, osteopath and acupuncturist. The practice is essentially based on listening to the primary respiratory movement (work of William Garnet Sutherland, which Maurice POYET has extensively investigated). A "skull reading" allows the development of an initial lesion status of the person. The majority of corrections are made on the sacrum using specific points that correct "chains", corresponding to a series of lesions. A check is again made on the skull, then comes the rebalancing of the rest of the body and the feet which are of key importance in the method.

This is a surprising method. The technique of normalizing anomalies found in the micro-movements of the different structures of the body (bones, tissues, muscles) is based on information initiated by the practitioner. The latter must therefore, during his training, develop a correct intention, allowing to adequately correct the disharmonies felt under his hands. This method is therefore the gentlest since no manipulation is carried out, ideal for supporting infants and fragile people.
